Ericcson moves to the nepliget center
Skanska has concluded a lease agreement with Ericsson in the green office building Népliget Center
Ericsson Hungary has signed a new 5 year lease agreement in the green office project Népliget Center at the junction between Könyves Kálmán körút and Gyáli út.
Ericsson will move the operations from District III to their new premises, comprising 6 300 sq m efficient office space, in February 2011. Ericsson R&D Center stays at Science park.
Népliget Center is an energy-efficient office building certified by the European Union's GreenBuilding program which means that the energy usage is 25% less than the energy norms of Hungary. Népliget Center has a total area of 26,000 square meters of which 16,600 refers to the second and last phase. Népliget Center is developed by Skanska Property Hungary. The office complex was sold to Accession Fund SICAV a real estate fund managed by GLL Real Estate Partners GmbH based in Munich. The first phase was handed over in the beginning of 2008 and the second on June 3, 2010.
Some of the main factors for choosing Népliget Center were good accessibility and visibility as well as the green technologies and energy efficiency. For Ericsson as a responsible employer it is important to create a light and open office space that pays maximum attention to ergonomics and environmental awareness.
"The Népliget Center proved to be the ideal site in Budapest for Ericsson Hungary's offices. Our new headquarters will provide a workplace of outstanding quality for close to 500 people from a business, human and environmental aspect" said Chris Houghton, CEO of Ericsson Hungary. “This is the second time that we develop a new office location together with Skanska. For us it is important to cooperate with a company that understands the importance of our corporate values.”
"We are happy to welcome Ericsson to Népliget Center. I take the fact that we once again are being trusted to develop their new office as proof of our ability to deliver premises that meet their needs and expectations." says Andreas Lindelöf, Managing Director of Skanska Property Hungary. “I am also very satisfied to see that Skanska’s ambition to build green and sustainable offices is being appreciated."
The aim of Skanska is to contribute to sustainable development by using clever construction solutions, materials and processes. All Skanska’s office developments in Europe will be third party certified as an insurance of the standard and a help for the customer. Skanska Property Hungary’s next project, Green House office building in the 13th district, is planned to be LEED-certified and the greenest office building ever constructed in Budapest.
